perfect sugar cookies.

If you know me in real life, you know that my mother makes Christmas goodies for everyone on our list every year. Her cookie recipe is tried and true and makes the perfect roll out cookie every time. Growing up, she was very particular about how each cookie looked-- only one kind of sprinkles allowed on each, and would make sure that everything was just so before bagging them up and delivering them to the hundred or so people on our cookie list. Today, I love recreating the recipe and making cookies for everyone on my list. My husband helps to decorate (under duress of course). I hope you love these as much as we do!
Ingredients:
2 Eggs Beaten
2 Cups Sugar
1 tsp Lemon Juice
1 tsp salt
1 cup butter softened
1 tsp baking soda
4 cups flour
Directions:
Beat Eggs, add sugar then add softened butter.
Mix dry ingredients together, then add wet ingredients to that mixture
Chill 2 hours
Roll, cut and bake at 350 until firm and cookies start to become golden around edges. (I like to under bake a bit so that they’re soft & chewy!)
Allow cookies to cool, decorate as wanted-- I like to use whipped vanilla icing and sprinkles!
