open letter to my husband.
To my husband,
“Love is a temporary madness, it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides, you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion, it is not the desire to mate every second minute of the day, it is not lying awake at night imagining that he is kissing every cranny of your body. No, don't blush, I am telling you some truths. That is just being "in love", which any fool can do. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident.” ― Louis de Bernières, Captain Corelli's Mandolin
To start, I love you more than anything. Even after all this time, you make my heart flutter every time you enter the room. You’re my very best friend. I am the luckiest person in the world to get to come home to you every day. I love all of the time we spend together. I love the silly moments and the more serious ones. I love all of the memories that we make together and all the memories that are to come.
Thank you for being there for me no matter what. For allowing me to have my good days and my bad, for embracing the sassy, even when I don’t deserve it. I love being able to tell you all my secrets, the good and bad. I know that you’re always there for me, and that you love me when I’ve accomplished something and when I need you most. I can’t count on one hand the days I’ve called you just to rant about things little or big. Thank you for your patience.
Thank you for knowing when I need my space, and allowing me to have it. Thank you for encouraging me to be the best version of myself, for letting me talk through every single fear I have and for telling me that no matter what we’re going to make it through life together. You know just how to ease my mind and make things better.
Thank you for encouraging my passions, for watching the countless YouTube videos, reading the long Facebook posts and donating to my favorite charities. Thank you for loving our dogs like they’re our babies.
Thank you for seeing me for who I am and for loving my family as much as I do. Thank you for attending every single birthday party & family gathering with a smile on your face and love in your heart. I love planning for the future with you and I can’t wait to see what our life holds.
Most importantly, thank you for riding this roller coaster of life with me.
I promise to never make you feel inadequate. I promise to always love you with the same passion as I did the day we met. I promise to constantly grow alongside you and to always inspire you. I promise to challenge you and to relieve your anxieties. I promise to love you forever and never let you go.

xoxoGabrielle
