confessions of the authentic wife.
In the past couple of months, you may have noticed a few changes around here. Gabrielle and I want to be open with y'all, because over the last seven months, y'all have become our wife tribe. We've shared our highs, our lows, and all the in-betweens (and ALL the treat yoself-s). Thank you for supporting us and rallying behind us. We love you, we appreciate you, and we are so excited to share the new direction we are taking our brand.
We started our blog back in August as a hobby. We wanted to share our recipes, our fun tips, cute clothes we'd bought; we didn't know how this would be received, where it would go, or how it could really grow. We spent seven months learning who we are, who we aren't, and where we wanted to take this.
In that time period, one thing has become very apparent - Gabrielle and I are (mostly) the same person. We share most of our good (and bad, sorry Jessie and Mike) traits. We share many of the same interests, live the same lifestyle, and like a lot of the same things.
Each "wifestyle" is different, and we want to celebrate that. We came to the conclusion that "Three Little Housewives" didn't encompass all of who we are and we want our blog to be a home for all types of wives, where all our friends feel included and welcome. And so, the idea to bring on guest bloggers was born. You will see a little bit of our girls Jillian and Bethany (and occasionally Terie, my mother) and we know you will love them all as much as we do. We all come from different walks of life, do different things, live different wifestyles, have different interests - but we share the same passion for wanting to share and connect authentically.
So we say to you, our fellow wives - thanks for sticking around while we keep it real.
We shop the clearance rack.
We sometimes eat boring food.
We (always) have strong opinions.
We don’t wear makeup every day.
We work our 9 to 5.
We take 95 pictures to get it right for Instagram.
We (sometimes) drink our "purse wine" warm.
We (usually) make brownies from a box.
We’ll be here, keeping it real and providing you with our favorite recipes, DIY hacks, mama tips, and so much more.
In a world with so many people trying to be perfect for the perception of the internet, we’re just over here trying to be the authentic wife.
